AirDefense Enterprise 4.1 uses a distributed architecture of remote sensors and a centralized server appliance to constantly monitor all 802.11 a/b/g wireless activity in real time. By cooperatively processing and communicating with the back-end appliance, AirDefense Enterprise provides a complete, overall view of all wireless devices and activities, authorized and unauthorized in the enterprise air space. This enables organizations to detect wireless intrusions, rogue WLANs, policy violations, and other adverse factors affecting the security and performance of the wireless LAN.
