Summary
The Security Consultant is focused on supporting the tactical operations of the Professional Services team, as well as providing assessment consulting and implementation services. This is done through pre-sales, requirements collection, scope design and execution of implementation services as well as creation of project specific documents.
Essential Functions:
- Provide on-site implementation and consulting services for a variety of security products and services.
- Requires the ability to perform the discovery necessary to learn the details of a customer environment and provide a strategic direction based on those findings.
- Develop rapport and relationships with clients at all levels, creating a personal network within the client base
- Provide pre-sales support of active systems and vendors, working directly with FNS sales staff and customers.
- Provide leadership by aiding in product research, following up on open issues and acting as an escalation point of contact.
- Act as a technical mentor for other consultants and engineers.
- Monitor customer communication and work with Support Center staff to follow-up on open issues and to communicate status of open tickets.
- Communicate critical customer issues to management and/or escalation engineering staff.
- Requires excellent written and communications skills as well as a technical background in security, programming and networking fundamentals.
- Provides the opportunity to participate in multiple areas of the consulting role such as pre-sales, requirements collection, scope design and execution of implementation services as well as creation of project specific documents.
- Candidates must also be willing to work with minimal supervision to accomplish the assigned tasks
Required Education/Experience:
A minimum combination equivalent to experience and/or education that would provide the relevant knowledge and abilities would be qualifying.
Education: Bachelors Degree in or equivalent training with specific coursework in programming, networking and security fundamentals, routing, switching and firewall security desirable.
Experience: At least five years of employment with responsibility for implementation, management and troubleshooting of network security infrastructure. This experience should include technical understanding of IP routing, switching and security fundamentals and the ability to provide consultative support for these technologies. Ability and experience in identifying appropriate basic networking and security related technologies for customer implementation. Previous job experience in a customer-facing consulting role.

Information Security Certifications
· Advanced technical degrees
· Certified Information System Security Professional
· SANS GIAC certification
· Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA)
· Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
Product Specific Certifications
Cisco Certified Network Associate
Advanced security product certification (i.e. Checkpoint CCSE, Juniper JNCIA-FWV, McAfee, RSA, ISS, Bluecoat, F5, etc…)

50% average annual travel is required
